Valarita
Privacy Policy
Effective / last updated: October 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Valarita collects, how we use and share it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Valarita app, valarita.com, Local Buzz, and related services currently made available to users.
1. Information we collect
Valarita collects information needed to provide Local Buzz and related account features. The information we collect depends on how you use the service.
- Account information you provide, such as your email address, display name, saved city or ZIP code, and other account details you choose to add.
- Authentication information from sign-in providers such as Google or Apple when you choose those sign-in methods.
- Local Buzz content and activity you choose to submit, such as tips, corrections, reactions, reports, photos, or other user-provided content.
- Location information: a saved city or ZIP and, only when you grant permission, device location used to show nearby Local Buzz results and calculate distance.
- Device, app, diagnostic, security, and usage information reasonably needed to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
- Notification identifiers used to deliver push notifications when you enable them.
- Cookies, local storage, or similar technologies used for sign-in, session continuity, preferences, security, and basic service functionality on the web.
2. How we use information
- Provide, personalize, maintain, and improve Valarita and Local Buzz.
- Show nearby activities, remember your selected area, and calculate distance when location is available.
- Create and secure accounts, authenticate users, prevent abuse, investigate reports, and enforce our rules.
- Review or moderate user-submitted content and improve listing quality.
- Send service-related messages and push notifications you have enabled.
- Measure performance, diagnose errors, and protect the reliability and security of the service.
- Comply with applicable law and respond to valid legal requests.
3. Location information
Valarita can work from a city or ZIP code without precise device location. If you choose “Use my current location,” your device will ask for permission before location is accessed. You can deny permission or later revoke it in your device settings. Device location is used to center nearby results and calculate distance; it is not required for basic saved-area browsing.
4. How information is shared
We do not disclose personal information except as needed to operate Valarita, provide a feature you request, protect users and the service, comply with law, or complete a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition.
- Service providers may process information for hosting, backend services, authentication, push notifications, file storage, security, moderation, diagnostics, or analytics. Current providers may include Base44 for app/backend infrastructure and OneSignal for push notifications when enabled.
- Google or Apple may process authentication information when you choose their sign-in services.
- Moderation or automated content-processing services may process content you submit when needed to evaluate safety, quality, or policy compliance.
- Information you intentionally publish through a public Local Buzz feature may be visible to other users.
- Public source links can take you to third-party websites governed by their own privacy practices.
We require service providers that process personal information for us to use appropriate safeguards and to handle that information consistently with their contractual and legal obligations.
5. No sale of personal information or targeted advertising
Valarita does not sell your personal information for money. We do not use precise device location as advertising inventory, and we do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.
6. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Data transmitted between your device and Valarita is sent over encrypted network connections such as HTTPS/TLS. Access to backend information is limited according to service and administrative needs. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Data retention and account deletion
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain security, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods can vary depending on the type of information and why it is needed.
You can permanently delete your Valarita account from the in-app Account page. If you no longer have access to the app, you can request account and associated-data deletion at /delete-account or by emailing support@valarita.com from the email address associated with your account. We may ask you to verify account ownership before completing an external deletion request.
When an account is deleted, Valarita deletes the account and associated user data covered by the deletion flow. Limited records may be retained where required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement.
8. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, privacy law may provide additional rights concerning access, correction, deletion, portability, or use of your personal information. We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.
- Choose a city or ZIP instead of granting device location permission.
- Turn device location permission on or off in your device settings.
- Control push notification permission in your device settings.
- Choose whether to submit Local Buzz reports, reactions, photos, corrections, or other optional content.
- Delete your account from the in-app Account page or request deletion through /delete-account.
- Contact support@valarita.com to ask about access, correction, deletion, or other privacy rights available under applicable law.
9. Children
Valarita is intended for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly permit children under 18 to create accounts. If you believe a person under 18 has provided personal information to Valarita, contact support@valarita.com.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Valarita changes. The effective date on this page will change when we make revisions. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we may provide additional notice where appropriate.
